Throughout his academic career, he has combined teaching, research, and institutional leadership. Beyond supervising students and producing scientific work, he has consistently taken on strategic administrative responsibilities that contributed to the university’s long-term development.

Before becoming Vice Rector, Prof. Suharman held several key leadership positions within Hasanuddin University.

In 2022, Rector Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa appointed him as Secretary of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), one of the university’s most strategic institutions responsible for coordinating research, innovation, and community engagement across all faculties.
