MARITIMEPOSTS.COM – The Winslow English Club (WEC) of the Faculty of Public Health, Hasanuddin University (FKM Unhas), once again held its flagship program, “WECamp Out Loud! 2026,” at Al Fath Bollangi from April 24–26, 2026.
The event carried the theme “Ready, Set, Speak! Leveling Up Team Synergy for Greater Impact Together.”
This program served as a strategic platform to welcome new members while aligning the organization’s direction and work programs.
The event was officially opened by WEC Advisor, Dr. Hasnawati Amqam, SKM., M.Sc, who, in her remarks, encouraged participants to utilize the organization as a positive and supportive space for self-development.
In addition to board members and new participants, the event was also attended by Ulfah Najamuddin, S.Si, M.Kes, as well as representatives from the Congress Organizing Committee (Badan Pelaksana Mubes), who observed the organization’s internal coordination process.
The closing session featured a reflective message from the representative of the Dean of FKM Unhas, Dr. Syamsuar, SKM, M.Kes, MSc.PH.
He emphasized that English proficiency cannot rely solely on theoretical understanding but must be continuously developed through daily practice.
“Do not hesitate to speak in English, even if you still make mistakes. This is exactly where we learn. It is through habit that our skills will grow naturally,” he stated.
Over the three-day program, participants engaged in various activities that combined learning and recreation, including:
- Work Program Presentations, where each division presented its strategic plans to ensure a clear organizational direction.
- Interactive Discussions, such as movie analysis and language games designed to build speaking confidence.
- Strengthening Solidarity, through outbound activities and a Fun Night session that fostered closer relationships between senior and new members.
The Chairperson of the Committee, Nabiila Sakiyyah, along with WEC President, Ash Habul Kahfi Fahlefi, expressed hope that the spirit of togetherness built during the camp would continue in future organizational activities.
With the conclusion of WECamp Out Loud! 2026, members are expected to have a clearer organizational vision and greater confidence in communicating in English on a global stage.
