“Universitas Hasanuddin believes that knowledge must be present to address community needs and provide tangible contributions to the nation and the state,” he stated.

Through the Transmigration Patriot 2026 Program, lecturers and alumni are invited to join the Patriot Expedition Team, which will work directly in the field to conduct research, provide assistance, strengthen community capacity, and support the development of transmigration areas.

The program is viewed not merely as a community service initiative, but also as a concrete form of higher education involvement in supporting inclusive and sustainable national development. With its academic expertise and strong alumni network, Unhas is believed to be capable of delivering direct and meaningful impacts to communities in transmigration regions.

The Rector also highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and a strong spirit of service in implementing the program. According to him, the involvement of academics must embody empathy, integrity, and real action within society.

He further encouraged all lecturers and alumni to become “development patriots” — individuals who are not only academics, but also agents of social transformation capable of providing solutions and empowering communities.

“Become development patriots who bring knowledge, empathy, integrity, and concrete action,” he said.

The call also reinforces Universitas Hasanuddin’s position as a university actively supporting the national development agenda, including the advancement of transmigration areas as new centers of economic and social growth in Indonesia.

Carrying the spirit of “Patriots Create, the Nation Triumphs,” the Transmigration Patriot Expedition 2026 Program is expected to become a strategic collaborative platform between the government, universities, and communities in accelerating development driven by knowledge and public service.
