maritimeposts.com/ – A few days ago, I had the privilege of attending Sharing Knowledge and Innovation: Resilient Communities and a Sustainable Future, an event organized by KONEKSI and the BaKTI Foundation at the Four Points Hotel in Makassar.
For me, this event was not just another forum—it was a bundle of impressions, a warm meeting space where we could reconnect with colleagues, fellow travelers in our professional journeys, friends from the NGO world, and the writing community. It felt like reuniting with old energy that sparked new motivation.
What truly brought the forum to life was its fresh and engaging methodology of knowledge and innovation exchange.
The lineup of speakers was impressive. Among them was Sekda Jufri Rahman, or Datok Jufri as I fondly call him, who delivered remarkable insights on the essence of regional development. We also welcomed Professor Sharyn from Australia, along with other international colleagues, and of course, our very own pride, Dr. Sudirman Nasir from FKM Unhas.
The sessions were interactive, inspiring, and far from rigid—fun, grounded, and thought-provoking all at once.
I also appreciated the creative poster exhibitions, which showcased innovative projects, research findings, and stories from researchers addressing pressing social, economic, and environmental vulnerabilities, as well as GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion) issues in Eastern Indonesia. Simply excellent!
The range of topics covered was equally impressive—regional development, sectoral inequality, climate change, disability inclusion, GEDSI, and research innovations. These were not just new pieces of knowledge, but empowering insights worth amplifying and sharing widely.
For me, this forum stands as a clear example of how knowledge-sharing events can be designed to be both insightful and enjoyable—rich in content yet light in delivery.
On behalf of The COMMIT Foundation, I am deeply impressed and convinced that this event can serve as a model for other organizations and NGOs that regularly organize workshops or knowledge-sharing forums.
I, Kamaruddin Azis, Secretary of The COMMIT Foundation, would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to KONEKSI and everyone involved. This experience has not only expanded my horizons but also nurtured a renewed spirit to keep innovating, sharing, and moving forward together for a better future.
And by the way—special thanks to Lusia Palulungan for the wonderful photos!
